The Microsoft Office software suite is available in traditional CD-ROM format and is also offered as a download by Microsoft. The method of purchase dictates the method of reinstalling Office. System RestoreIf your Office software was uninstalled or damaged by a recent computer issue, run a Windows System Restore by clicking 'Start,' selecting 'All Programs,' choosing 'Accessories,' clicking 'System Tools' and selecting 'System Restore.' Choose a restore point from before your software malfunctioned to restore it. Reinstall with a Product KeyThe Microsoft website provides downloads of their Office suite for users to experience a free trial of the software. If you have your product key, which is typically printed on both the CD and the inner packaging on Microsoft products, enter it when prompted after downloading and installing Office. If you downloaded your Office software, the product key is emailed to you at purchase and logged with your purchase site. No Product Key and No CDWithout both your original product key or CD-ROM, Microsoft Support is not able to provide assistance. A new Office software suite must be purchased. Video of the Day

More ArticlesI installed Office 2013 and put in the product key when it asked me to. After typing in the product key, it allowed me to use MS Word once. After I closed MS Word and went to reopen it the next day, it said the product key I entered was incorrect (maybe I typed it in incorrectly). It asked me to change it. I tried opening MS word and clicking File -> Account but was unable to change the product key from there. I then went to control panel -> uninstall a program and then clicked on Office 2013 and clicked 'change' but it gave me no option to change the product key. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall it. I uninstalled it and then went to reinstall it with the setup file and now it is giving me an error saying: The first product key I entered seems to be saved somewhere. How do I delete / change it?

2 AnswersDepending on the combination of Office 2013 and Window version you might have to change the path to Program Files(x86) Here is the sequence that should work for (x64 Windows -> x64 Office) and (x86 Windows -> x86 Office):
cscript 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15ospp.vbs' /dstatus Note down the partial product key(s) (there can be multiple) cscript 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15ospp.vbs' /unpkey:partial_key This will uninstall an installed product key with partial product key you noted earlier. Uninstall all of the keys. Now you should be able to add it from Control Panel the usual way. Or you can use: cscript 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15ospp.vbs' /inpkey:new_full_key Then you need to activate it. cscript 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15ospp.vbs' /act Just for update: Still works in Office 2016, you just need to change 'Office15' to 'Office16'.

Just run the setup for Office 2013 again and choose the option 'Enter a Product Key' in the first screen.

That long ago (when Outlook 2013 was 'new'), you might even have received a CD with the Office Software that provides the key somewhere on the CD package. If the license key is on your computer, you may be able to dig it out using a program meant to provide details about your computer's Operating System, file structure, hardware, and setup: Once you have your key or if you decide to purchase Microsoft Office, visit Microsoft online: If you have questions, contact Microsoft When you see a Post that helps you, Inspires you, provides fresh insight, Or teaches you something new, Click the 'Thumbs Up' on that Post. 09-19-201602:22 PM Hi Kate, Hmm. My apologies for the confusion: we are a community forum of volunteers - owners and users of HP technologies. We are not Tech Support. HP provides a limited official presence on the forum for the purpose of forum administration. You can contact HP and pose your question: HP Contact Information – Sales, Technical Support, other Contacts - USA / Canada Including UK and Europe Commentary Considering the normal warranty is perhaps expired, it might be better to contact HP Sales and let them try and connect you with the proper department -- have that Order number handy. Your Order email likely provides a phone number, else use the standard contact.
